Amy Jacobs (she/her) is a New York based artist and papermaker. She received her MFA in Interdisciplinary Book and Paper Arts from Columbia College Chicago and studied for two years at Penland School of Craft as part of the Core Fellowship Program. She has taught and led papermaking workshops at institutions including Yale University, the Museum of Modern Art, the New York Public Library, the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, University of the Arts, and University of Georgia Studies Abroad Program in Cortona, Italy. Since 2010, she has been part of the studio team at Dieu Donné, a leading non-profit cultural institution dedicated to serving established and emerging artists through the collaborative creation of contemporary art using the hand papermaking process. Currently the Senior Director of Artistic Projects and Master Collaborator, she has worked with renowned artists such as Ann Hamilton, Do Ho Suh, Howardena Pindell, Ursula von Rydingsvard, Melvin Edwards and Lynda Benglis. Her own work uses a textile-based exploration of imagery, embracing traditional and experimental papermaking techniques.
